Gang-

1) For those of you who perform this, which style on the Tyros 1 do you suggest?

2)I'm looking to add some popular instrumentals to my sets..

...currently I most often play Alley Cat, Last Date, Tea for Two (Cha-Cha), Cherry Pink/Apple Blossum White and Satin Doll...

Any other suggestions would be appreciated...

Hi Bill,

I do an Andrew Sisters medley using Combo Boogie, which includes In The Mood, Boog Woogie Bugle Boy, and a couple others--it really get the crowd in the mood.

Cheers,

Hi Bill. Here are the Tyros1 styles I use for the following songs:

In The Mood - Big Band Fast1 * tempo: 159
Cherry Pink - Cha Cha - tempo: 127
Tea For Two - Cha cha - tempo: 132
Satin Doll - Big Band Med2 * - tempo: 120

* Piano accomp part muted

Bill (and others). Curious to hear which Tyros styles you use for these same songs, plus what you use for Last Date, & Alleycat. As far as instrumentals go, any song popular as a vocal should go over well as an instrumental too.

Scott,

I use a custom style for Last Date, which you will find in Gig Disk #10 . Give it a try and I think you'll like what you hear.

Ian & Gary. Thank you both for sharing your terrific Floyd Cramer's "Last Date" custom styles. Especially interesting that both of your styles sound nearly identical (78bpm, and with same drum patterns, and OTS voice selections) yet some your accomp instrument fill patterns) are slightly different. Strings more emphasized on one, Gary's includes harmony (trio) in OTS1, and the piano comping pattern sounds slightly different. I look forward to incorporating both styles when I perform "Last Date" now. Wow, I had forgotten how ez & fun this tune is to play by ear. Thanks again guys. - Scott

Scott.....
Heres a tip...Your Cha Cha BPM are too fast for real dancers....I would suggest 121-124BPM
BTW for In THe Mood I use a custom G70 converted BB Boogie Style at 165BPM

Your welcome Scott,
Gary was gracious enough to put my style on his terrific "gig" disks.
Since then,I had modified the style a little..therefore the slight differences in the strings etc.
Glad youliked it.
