look like one of those "why didn't i think of that?" items..would love to hear from someone with feedback..if none I think I'll just spring for this and be one of the guinea pigs..if it works well could be as great an asset as the mic stand that plugs into the kb stand tube.

Nice idea, but not durable.

The capacity is only 110 lb.

You tried one, did you Donny?

What were the flaws that you found?

seems this is just meant to roll your kb in/out on, not like a rocknroller for all your gear-- as such seems like a good idea. who has a kb that exceeds 110 lbs? ------------------ Miami Mo

My God! I could carry my Rhodes on that !
If 110 lbs ain't enough to cover ALL my gear ...... I ain't goin' to work !
Lets see:
PSr3k - 25lbs
Bose Li - 4 pieces, none over 30lbs
PC, cables, Bose mixer - 18 lbs, in a case
Fender Strat VG - 9 lbs ( 6 lbs if I bring the Squire instead! )

Yep - that's all I need !

For goodness sakes, it looks like the trash bag holder in the garage. Doesn't look very strong and it's one of those $20 stands to start with. Look at the wheels - they'd get caught in the first sidewalk crack and break off. It looks like it would come as an accessory for a toy store keyboard. I hope it would be better than that, but that's what it looks like to me. How would a keyboard be loaded on it? They don't even show you.

Re: KB stand - 08/23/07 06:17 PM

If you look at the bottom left of the picture ... you'll see a tray-like attachment that pulls down to create a shelf for the kb. The top tier has the carry strap and the wheels, well ... you know where they are !

I have no use for this stand ... my KB case has in-line skate wheels .... I thought it might be useful to those with conventional cases.

Re: KB stand - 08/23/07 07:18 PM

the idea is good..for those like me who prefer roll their kb around without a case on a hand truck rather than have it in a case and all their equipment on one roller. but i can see that it is flimsy. SO-- why not take a solid x-stand, buy a couple of good wheels at a hardware store and screw or bolt them on the frame in the appropriate place..then get a piece of metal to make a shelf wide enough for a kb and bolt that on? doesn't have to fold up, since only needs to be maybe 8 inches inches wide. that should be more solid and durable than the trolley they are selling. I'm not that handy but i might try to put something like that together..maybe one of you is talented in that way and can come up with a prototype we can copy or even buy from you..???

Re: KB stand - 08/24/07 11:58 AM

donny, do u own stock in that company? LOL the rnr is great if u want to put everything in cases and roll in one trip..not for me. i don't mind walking 3 times..healthy exercise. i don't want to use a kb case, just want to carry under arm if very short distance or on a hand truck if longer distance. something like the item discussed here, only not a piece of junk, has the benefit of cutting down one item..no hand truck necessary. my amp is semi-permanently bungeed to a small luggage carrier. never take it off carrier, just play w/it on there. 1 trip for kb/stand, one trip for amp/shoulder bag of cables, mics etc..one trip for horns. the rnr saves steps, but it doesn't really save time, since you still have to load/unload strap on/off the rnr, then need a place to store it and cases. i went that route with another carrier similar to the rnr. like my present way better, but thanks, it is a great piece of equipment.

Re: KB stand - 08/24/07 01:27 PM

murphy hasn't affected me yet..been kb gigging 7 years, worst that happens is some scratches on end pieces when using hand truck if i neglect to put a cloth in between. one tends to be a lot more careful when there is no case. the most dangerous way to go is a soft case..found that out to my chagrin w/soft sax cases years ago. you get false sense of security. even in a hard case, if it falls, there is the damage possible inside the equipment itself, from the abrupt stop. when you've got the naked object, you know where to touch and not touch, and you are always super-careful.
