Help Ensoniq TS12 to GM - 09/15/01 12:18 PM

I need software to convert Ensoniq TS12 sequences to General Midi format. Any ideas?
Thanks,

ooooooooh, I fell sorry for ya pal. Your fastest fix (that I know of) is to simply import the files (in real time) into a sequencer, like cakewalk or power trax pro -whatever....and then change all the channels, and program changes to match the standards. I don't think there is anything "out of the box" that could decipher what sound you "wanted" to use in the GM map. Like Karen & Rich said:

Thanks Dave, I found a program from Geibler that includes an editor and a conversion program. I'll still have to do some re-assigning of sounds but that's not too bad.
My new partner has several disks of his own sequences he did on the Ensoniq. His keboard is getting pretty tired and I want to put them in GM format in case it crashes, as it did yesterday in rehearsal.
Of course I can play all the songs live on the Yamaha, but he has put a lot of work into his songs and they are really well done.
He plays either fiddle or a piano part in real time with the sequences and it is quite impressive.

Don,

sounds interesting, I hope you will put some of the songs on your web site to share with us also.

I will when I have time. It has been very hectic lately. I have some other songs I promised to put up also.
There is a disk stuck in my MD recorder. I have to figure some way to get it out.

Don,
Try pushing your release button, while lightly pushing, as tho you are inserting it. Then see if it will eject. I've gotten them out before that way. What ever you do, be careful
those disks & drives damage easy!
Hope you get it out,
Nobby
