How good is the psr2000 sequencer?

How good is the psr2000 sequencer? - 11/08/01 02:31 PM

I am very close to buying the PSR2000. So far, I like everything about it. Can someone tell me more about the sequencer? I want to be able create near complete songs and save them to MIDI so that I can then pop the disk in my Cubase system and change things around a bit and finish the song. Is this possible? Are there any "catches" to the sequencer? Are the auto rythms saved as MIDI along with everything else? I am asking this because I also have an Ensoniq MR-76 and the auto drum parts are merely triggered and not saved as MIDI with the song. Thanks in advance for your replies!

Yes, the sequencer is very good. It is a complete 16 track sequencer and everything is saved as midi note data even all the accomp. tracks. You can select all 16 tracks to record and go in and out of the auto accomp. while you record. Auto accomp tracks are from 9 - 16 with 1- 8 being any voice you would like. If you don't want to use auto accomp. you can make 9-16 be anything you wish. You can then save to disk, take out the disk and you have a .smf file.

HI GEORGE,

Can the psr2000 record from any measure...or do I have to start from the beginning and re-record the whole thing when I made a mistake in the middle of the song? Thanks for your time.

I have thought about 1920 for a while.
Conclusion: 1920 is practically impossible;
it must be 192 ppq! I am rather convinced.
I thats OK I think.

Hi Bee,

The 2000 has punch in/out settings to record just the measure(s) you want. This is great if you "miss" a chord in a measure. Also, it is possible to edit and step record individual notes for the main and layer voices, or replace them using the punch in/out feature.
