First gig in 30 years

First gig in 30 years - 07/02/07 08:14 PM

Wow! What a great time. Haven't gigged in 30 years. Got my G-70 in October and been "brushing up" and did my first live gig Sunday at my Aunt's assisted living center. My God, what have I been missing. So much fun, so much appreciation,so much giving, so much love. I am hooked, and they paid me pretty well as I offered( at a ridiculous price of $300 for 2 hours ) and they invited me back next month. I will have to do this more and I really don't care if they want to pay me or not.
I have been playing for friends/family for years and been having fun but this new instrument is so realistic that people are absolutely amazed at the sound and realism of it all. I been lurking here for a while and am amazed at the mass here for their talents and knowledge and I think now I might have a better understanding of the rewards and challenges that you all face on a daily basis. This could be more fun than than I thought it might be to do a little humble entertaining!!

Another one bitten by the Zuki bug.

Good to hear that you had such a great time, Snotty, and from your report, the audience shared your excitement.

Three hundred for a 2-hour gig isn't bad pay at all. You'll be gigging all over the place before too long. Just ask Zuki. He's so busy his wife put up "Missing" signs all over town.

Snooty,

Good for you and it's for a great cause. $300 is huge for 2 hours

Taike,

You're right about that the missing person (me) And when I'm home, I'm usually under the earphones, so I'm good for nothing but music these days.

There's a song that goes;

"If you can't be.....
with the one you love....
love the one you're with"

If you hear your spouse humming it in the background, you may want to, at the very least, get out from under the earphones.

As you can see, Zuki, Chas has been housebroken.

"... get out from under the earphones."

Geez, Chas. You must have enormous ears.
