wont be any from Oz...roland australia are refusing to match any of the "deals" you can currently get in the states...the best deal here is still about $4400-4600 (US 3400-3900)

Donny i tried to purchase a keyboard (Tyros 1) from US a while ago. shipping ended up being over $600 USD. ends up making it not worth it.

gotta agree with nick, the shipping just takes any advantage away...i suspect that roland, for example knows this, which maybe why they are so unwilling to compromise on their aussie prices??

Dennis, try Singapore or Taiwan. The G70 sells for US$2700. S&H won't be that much. I don't know about Singapore or even Hong Kong prices but they may be about the same or less.

Is it polite to gloat, or should I just silently sit and just THINK....

'Told you so...!"

It an interesting history lesson to go back in the archives to the first year of posts about the G70... Trust me guys - it really hasn't changed THAT much. Why everyone panned it so bad never made any sense to me. As long as you turned off the Mastering Comp and EQ (or at least tweaked them to MUCH more conservative settings), it was always a good 'live' sounding arranger...

The new EQ and OTS features from OS3 have certainly made it more versatile, but it's been working for me for two years, now, and was right up my street from the start.

I am just perplexed by why NOW, all of a sudden?

OK, how about this?

How many of you new G70 users would pay the old street price of about $3500US for one? Or is it that it is more inside a few more people's budget, nowadays?

If you decide to ship from the US to Australia, make sure the boards have universal power supplies due to the different voltage between the US and Aus.

No G-70, no E-80... "Just" a E-50. May I be counted as well?

Hi Fran,
Recently purchased a G-70 a couple of months ago and love it. The PSR-3000 has been relegated to the closet until I sell it.

Gee......If I can get over 50 bookings a month with my lowly 3000, wonder how many I could get using Roland

These are great things for a former 3k and soon to be former owner of a Tyros2 to hear

Re: Roland users..stand up and be counted - 06/21/07 12:45 PM

Actually, Fran, all three were about $3700.00. That was about the street price of the one alternative with all the bells and whistles added. Or, it's only about 1/3 the price of the double neck acoustic guitar (nylon and steel-nylon-only piezeo-steel-piezo and magnetic pickup) I'm having built in Spain.

If I keep spending like this, maby my kids will stop following me around with their tongues (and hands) hanging out!

Just kidding...got GREAT kids! (poor but great!)

Gotta go outside and watch for the UPS truck.

Re: Roland users..stand up and be counted - 06/21/07 04:59 PM

I bought a new Roland E-50 recently from George Kaye. I'm impressed with it, sounds better and does more than I'd expect from a keyboard in it's price range. It would have been wonderful to have the E80 or G70, but I figured I'd better settle for a cheaper model. Roland has really come out with some super keyboards.

I noticed the thread only now, but I'm a G-70 user from the very first days (dec 2004).
Count me up too.

Re: Roland users..stand up and be counted - 06/25/07 04:19 AM

I'm here too with my 3-day old G70. I've been a Roland fan for years, going back to my Juno 106. There's nothing wrong with Yamaha, I've had those too. Right now, the price of the G70 has become a little more affordable than others in its market space. I really can't justify $3000 for one keyboard, but $2500 or maybe a little less if you hit a deal is a good price for this powerful machine. 76 keys is a plus too. Tyros loses out because of its 61 notes and I just haven't investigated Korg enough to comment - although I liked my iX300 when I owned it.

Anyway, it looks as though I'll be a Roland player for a long time.
