Stereo and the Yamaha YPG 525 - 09/14/06 07:37 AM
I'm getting ready to buy an SD-5 (when they're available) and a YPG 525 from George.
One question: do I have to be concerned with stereo amplification with the YPG 525? My plan is to use a XB-2 Hammond on the bottom (left-hand bass and B-3 sound), the SD-5 on top and the 525 on my right hand on my house job. Currently, I have a 200 watt mono 6 channel Carvin head with 2 12's-a line out to a Carvin 100 watt three channel with a 12 and a hot spot monitor. Big room, so the 100 watt is used to to fill a dead spot and power the monitor.
Will I need a stereo head to get the right sound out of the Yamaha? AJ says that the SD-5 is fine in mono, as is the XB-2.
Worst case..I'd have to get a stereo PA head. Always use a powered mixer for simplicity/moves. Have two of these Carvins and they have been great so far.
Help!
