B4 Native instruments - 12/13/00 03:50 PM

Hi,
I'm sure many people still like the 'good old' Hammond sound. Yesterday I got a demo-version of B4-Native Instruments.
It's a software package that tranforms your PC into a ABSOLUTE GREAT B3.
The sound is superb and operating 'your B3' is a 100% copy of the original.
Everything is there :
Rotating speakers, drive, percussion, key-click, all drawbars, scanner-vibrato ........ just name it .... it is there !!
I muted the X1-outputs, played on the keyboard .... closed my eyes and WOW !!

Get your demo at www.native-instruments.com and get exited !!

This is NOT a commercial advertisement, but I could not believe my ears !

Roel

Roel,
What are the PC requirements to run that program? I have a 200Mhz PII laptop - will that do the job? Sounds like something I would love!

I checked this out a few weeks ago, since I like B3 sounds. The demos sound great. But I threw a standard piano MIDI file into it and got poor sounds out of it. The B3 graphics are very nice.

In real time, I found the latency very unacceptable. From MIDI files, as well as from a MIDI keyboard input, it outputs WAVE sounds (like Yamaha's virtual synth software).

However, I feel they are getting close and I do hope we can hear B3's out of our existing keyboards via computers (or out of new keyboards they design) as soon as possible.

B3 has been a challenge to clone for a long time.

I would like to hear details from those that have found real-time play acceptable.

I saw that the new Yamaha 9000 pro has, as the first arrager, a 91 oscillator "B3-wannabe" included. If it can compete with the best as Voce V5 I think it is, without any question, the biggest news on 9000 pro board.

Yeah - I'm certanly looking for good HAMMOND emulators, but haven't found any good stuff in arranger keyboards.
I guess it will take further time to have something usefull built-in on a arrangerkeyboard, as they often "cut" the sound quality.
Can anyone suggest a great sampler for incredible B3 sounds ?
Maybe it's the best solution..
