Nigel? - 07/20/07 04:05 PM

Hi Nigel,
First, thank you so much for the zone, all you've done and all you do.

Ok, so I'm wondering why the time listed for my last post differs from my pc time.
It says 6:28 pm here but my last post comes up as 3:21.
I'm in Wisconsin. Are you that much farther east to make a 3 hr (roughly) difference? And is there anyway I can change something in preferences to denote my correct?
I know it's a minor thing but it really bugs me.

Yikes! Three hours east of Wisconsin would put Nigel in mid-atlantic!

All together now . . .

Well, I think he's in Canada so that could explain the huge disparity.
I was thinking the same thing heh, about the ocean. Another reason for my post actually. Is the zone only limited to one time zone I wonder.

Nigel is in the same time zone as I am and that is the Pacific time zone where we are currently on Daylight Savings time.
I am writing this at 7:58 PM PST.

It says "posted 07-20-2007 06:58 PM" on my pc, Bebop. And I'm reading it at 11:11am, July 21.

Hey Jim, I'm in Canada, eh, and there's no disparity, eh, (as you probably know, eh, we have a time zone, Eastern, eh, the same as Wisconsin, eh).

If I see Nigel hanging out near my igloo, I'll let you know, eh?

lol Renig. Not too many igloos here in Los Angeles. But I guess you can buy anything here if you have enough money or so it seems anyway.

It looks like there is a 1 hour discrepancy based on BEBOP's posting. I'll adjust it by an hour to at least reflect Pacific Coast time. Unfortunately the BBS software doesn't allow you to personalize the time for your own location. You just have to pretend you live in California or thereabouts.

Re: Nigel? - 07/21/07 01:29 AM

Let me test the time now. It is 1.30AM here in Los Angeles now. Hopefully the time on this post will be the same. I am not even sure exactly where the server is that hosts Synth Zone so I just offset the BBS time from whatever that is.

Ahhhhh it's all clear now. It's not us but the server tahts in the ocean. lol
Seriously, Renig, you are way to funny eh?
And btw, Wisconsin is in Central not Eastern time zone. Eh? lol

Re: Nigel? - 07/21/07 02:06 AM

To match PT I have set the BBS time offset to be -2 hours which would indicate the server is in Central Time Zone ... somewhere.

Nigel according to my post I am on Pacific Daylight time but this forum was still on Pacific Standard time. It was not set forward the hour
Having said that now I wonder what difference it makes

It's Five O'clock somewhere!
