My Piano Music - 04/11/06 12:25 AM

Hi Guys,

I finally uploaded a few of my piano compositions to my website:
http://tinyurl.com/rjlwp

The first three tracks are the piano ones...

I used the piano sound in my Yamaha CS6x, which is identical to the piano sound in my PSR-3000. Please be gentle as I play solely by ear!!

Although I love my 3000, my heart has always been with a simple acoustic piano.

Hi Carrie.
I really enjoyed your songs. I was playing them in the sequence from top to bottom.
I got to 'Desireable Reality' and I said to myself, wow this is very pleasant and peaceful like Robert Miles' Dreamland album, then I saw your note about Robert when I got down a couple of more songs ... Well, that explained that!

Carrie, were these (electronica) done using the PSR3000?
If so, my 3000 don't sound anything like that but thanks for showing me what it is capable of, if in good hands.

My compliments to Rachel too. Her vocals blended very nicely.
Well Done!

Finish 'Desireable Reality' and make some more.

Thanks for listening and for your nice comments guys. I really appreciate it

MrEd,

Yes, when Robert Miles' music made it over to the states (I'm from Indiana originally), I was so taken by it... It was the first time I'd ever heard this sort of music and loved the dreamy chords and rhythyms.

No, I'm afraid I recorded all of these long before I got my PSR-3000. These were all done with my Yamaha CS6x with the help of some audio drum loops. I do plan on doing some recording with my 3000, hopefully over the summer when I have some free time!

Thanks again,

Carrie

Beautiful stuff, Carrie! I just had a quick listen to two tracks - Weightless and Time Wished Away.

Kudos to your pal Rachel, too. Very Dido-sounding, a good thing in my book. Time Wished Away reminded me of the music they use on Premier League broadcasts - I love the feel you manage to achieve with what many people perceive to be a, for want of a better word, 'mechanical' genre.

A very good job, very well done!

Hey,

very nice! Different than I've heard before.

Once again I enjoyed your music. Specially love how you use sound effects.

Desireable Reality I got hooked

Keep up the good work!

Renig,

Thank you for taking the time to listen and for your nice comments. You're right, for the most part trance is very mechanical. I usually try to make it more 'New ageish' as much as I can anyway!

Tony,

It's funny, that Desireable Reality 2 minute song idea seems to be favoured by many! I did have a guy put some vocals to it once, but no longer have the file sadly. Sometimes the songs you spend the least amount of time on come out the best Thanks very much for listening and for your nice comments!

Claudiu,

Thanks for your kind words. I know how much you like dance/trance so was pleasantly surprised you also like piano stuff! When can I expect to hear something you've written??? Can't wait

Hi Guys,

For those of you who are interested, I just found that version of my song 'Desirable Reality' with vocals. I've uploaded it to my site: http://tinyurl.com/rjlwp

It's called 'Come Back' and is the result of an online collaboration with a guy who visited my site and decided to add lyrics and vocals to it!

The internet is pretty cool sometimes
