Hi - New Member - 12/07/04 09:59 AM

Hi Folks,
I Just joined your forum. I don't really play keyboards, I'm an amatuer guitarist who throws midi streams at keyboards & synths via a midi guitar, Sonar4 & Cakewalk Project5.

I have some drum machines and consumer arrangers like Roland PMA5 and Kawai GB-2 that I thought I could yank the styles from, import them into One Man Band (which I recently registered), then let OMB assist with jamming & real-time arranging. I think if I can edit and otherwise map the styles well enough I can even put parts of them
into Project5 and use OMB to drive it and create some ideas on the fly. Maybe a more creative and spur-of-the-moment experience in other words...

I researched this for a while on this forum and it seems that both Jammer Live and
One Man Band might fill the bill. I started with OMB because of the support and activity the developer Jos has provided on this forum and over at a couple of other ones...

Anyway - Hi ! Now to hook everthing up...

Hi Bebop - yes I'm on the very edge of San Jose & Santa Clara & Campbell at Santana Row...kinda Devil's Triangle kind of thing, hehe.

Cool website - I'll have to listen to a couple of your tunes later after I get Real Audio downloaded!

Keep on Jammin!

Kylen, welcome aboard from a fellow Bay Area resident (Berkeley). I think BIAB is a great program and a terrific bang for the buck!

Btw: I was out Christmas shopping at "Santana Row" & the neighboring "Valley Fair" shopping center the other day, and What a mob! - Scott

Welcome from another California member Kylen. Or 'Collyfornia' as Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger calls it.

I'm down around the San Diego area.

The Moderator of this Forum whose name is Nigel also resides in California in Ventura about 60 miles northwest of L.A.

In fact I think most of the active members on this Forum reside in California. Which is only logical because California has the largest population of any State.

Once again welcome to the SZ. You may want to further investigate Arranger Keyboards Kylen. Although playing the Keys is something you have to work at, in the end the journey is greatly enriching and well worth it IMO.

Best regards,
Mike

Hi Again Friends and Thanks for more welcoming cassp!

Scotyee - I get up to Berkeley every other year or so for 'The Hard Nut' (Special Nutcracker Suite performance). Watch out for Santana Row during shopping season eh - pretty nutz, I just walk over.

keybplayer - I haven't been to San Diego for a bit - down the Grapevine - but our daughter went to school and we would hang out - very beautiful.

tony mads - True enough California is very beautiful & cool but I'm from the 'Best Coast' too having spent a lot of time in Virginia and Mass (can't spell it anymore - it's been a while). Visited NYC a few times - never RI though, still got time I think!

Anyway - good of you folks not to throw stones since I strum my instrument and my keyboard playing is more like typing

But glorious arrangers - that's where it's at for me ! Gives my wife and me a chance to play & sing...
