Congrats Fran! Enjoy your new keyboard man Don't worry, it's going around. My setup is getting a facelift too. Several new keyboards will be in my home very soon (including a new Fantom X6)

Boy, do I feel like a pathfinder....!

I've been telling you guys how great the G70 is for nearly two years, now.... Glad to see some folks finally agreeing with me!

I am having fun with Donny's decision to eschew everything he's been vigorously defending for the last year or so... Yamaha PSR's obvious superiority over everything, the need for built-in speakers, no need for 76 keys, light weight above all... (the SD1+ is 37 lb. - still lighter than a G70, but MUCH heavier than a PSR3K).

Welcome to my world, Donny... Now you are going to have to endure Ian's taunts at your over-weight lifestyle and need for more that 61 keys!

Fran,
I am going to try to get you lined up with Dr. Phil. You obviously need even more help then I do. We both have new keyboards that we probably didn't need but isn't it just great to get them anyway.
Have a blast with your new G 70.
Best to you,
Bebop with a new E 80

Cool, Fran....me, too! My set-up will be an xb-2 Hammond on the bottom (have already), an SD-5 in the middle and a Micro-Korg on the top. On my right hand will be a Kursweil piano. All these, except the SD-5 are on order-will order SD-5 from AJ next week. This will be the set-up at one of my house jobs. All 4 will go thru a sub mixer into the PA. I'm looking forward to using the riff feature to play melodica, flute, guitar, electric upright, mandolin and tenor banjo over.I am addicted to the Ketron 13 note pedalboard and am getting a back-up. the one I have is 13 years old.

What fun!

Hi Captain Russ
Forget the keyboards and get these 2 instead, you will be much happier.

Interesting, Bill, but I need my "mini-B", have been used to the Ketron system for years, and will need to take components out as needed for other jobs. The Riff function is now important for solos on other instruments.

Always wanted to play one of these, though.
Could get the same effect, I believe with a B-3 and the SD-5.

Thanks,

R.

Russ, have you checked out the new Nord B3 clone? Two manuals and 33 lb.!

No drawbars, but maybe you can live without those or get a MIDI drawbar set...

Oh, and be prepared to take out a second mortgage to get a Louvre...!

Congrats, buddy!

Nothing can shake Fran's belief in Roland. Shouldn't he be Roland's official posterboy by now? Come on, Roland, what does it take? The guy's practically sold his life to the company.

Who would have thought that Fran could be separated from his G1000???

Sadly though he has not fully switched to software based arranger systems!!! Oh well...

Still waiting to hear one sound better than a hardware arranger with all it's intrinsic reliability... and reasonably easy setup.

Not saying it can't be done... just haven't heard it yet. When you get one that fries a T2 or G70, post it here... can't wait!

I suppose I'm one of the last diehard 3000 users. It still serves me well. Additionally, I must be the poorest of the group

Awwww... poor Donny... Easily confused.

Can't get a whole thread to rag on Fran? What's this forum coming to?
