trtjazz songs - 10/30/02 09:38 AM

Hi TRTjazz,
I finally got a chance to visit your site because I had been so busy with recording projects and trying to get them to sound just right, you know how it is. I wish I had visited earlier because you really have some great material there. I especially like "Love's Comfort" in your latest CD. I was intantly transported into a utopian world, free from stress and worry! I also enjoyed your other songs from your previous CDs like "Strugglin' To Survive" and "Still Waters." The groove on "Strugglin'" is kickin'!

I am impressed with how prolific you are with your music. Thank you for sharing it with us. Also, thank you for posting to my forum at my site. I have since changed the forum to one that actually resides in my site (no more pop ups!). It would be great if you would register again.

dongggoi,
Wow thanks for the killer review of my work, and nice words you're definately on the "A" list for the xmas party this year.

Post the link to your site would you please? The link in your profile doesn't work.
thanks and jam on,
Terry

Hello Again,

I totally forgot just how much things have changed. I haven't updated my profile in 3 years. Anyhow, here's my webpage:
http://www.jinxchin.com

I've had a real hectic day today. That's OK though, cause' I think I'm going to be alright after listening to "Love's Comfort" again!

dongggi,
Thanks and glad my tunes can help calm your savage nerves. The full version is over 6 minutes.....perhaps I should send it to you for those long days.

I joined your forum....looks like it could be fun and aimed towards general music discussion and how we do what we do. That should be nice for a change in pace rather than just gear talk.....talking more about the art side of music making rather than the mechanics. I look forward to it.
jam on,
Terry

I agree...."Strugglin'" is cool!

BTW, Terry..did you 1/16 quantize some of the "snare fill", step record, or played it live?

Kn,
Thanks for the kind words about "Strugglin'" it's kind of cool it's almost like the tune has been rediscoverd. It' about a 2 year old piece of mine.
I played it all live realtime, overdubbing as I went along. I do not use quantizing at all....too rigid for my lousy timing and sounds too stiff for my tastes.
jam on,
Terry

Re: trtjazz songs - 11/01/02 03:47 PM

kn,
As I recall...what I did was play it live in realtime, create a loop from it and dubbed it in.
Looked back over my song sheet for the tune to see what I did:
I played it in with my Yamaha DD 55 suito drum kit, created the loop realtime and dubbed it.
Terry
