The Blues and nothing but the Blues

The Blues and nothing but the Blues - 11/20/16 07:29 AM

For some reason, whenever I talk about some of my favorite artists, I always seem to forget about the great Mike Finnegan. I always wondered why he never reached SUPERstardom, even though I think he deserves it. He 'ain't no fake', he's the real deal. Russ, listen to his solo in the first clip, the best merging of rock organ, blues organ, and Black gospel church organ - love it. In the second clip, even BB King would be proud. Nigel, he resides in your neck of the woods, wish he was on the East Coast so I could get a chance to see him live.

Oh, and did I mention - he's a Progressive Liberal political activist.

Give it a try. These guys are excellent musicians.
This one is my favorite song. It's by excellent Croatian band.
I love the words. I will try to translate.

Restless Sea

Forgive me please
for not being what you need
You know that I love you
in my own way

Forgive me the pathetics
that’s for the romance
instead of flowers and candles
at dinner

I know it’s hard for you
to bear with me
One minute I’m there, the other I’m not
Sometimes I wish to take a break
but I’m scared

I am me, unable to stay still
winds blow through my soul
I am me, like restless sea

I hate harbours, can’t stand shores

Forgive me please
for not being what you need
You know that I love you
in my own way

Forgive me if I sound
as if I’m unhappy
You know that I’ve always
been clumsy with words

Days pile up into long years
winter is at the door
tomorrow brings nothing good
except hopes

Never really paid attention to him before. He's really got the chops...instrumental and vocal.

Puts on a hell of a show,too!

Thanks,

Russ
