Dress Code for Musicians

Dress Code for musicians.
Many of us (those over 40, WAY over 40 or hovering near 40) are
quite confused about how we should present ourselves. We're unsure about the kind
of image we are projecting and whether or not we are correct as we
try to conform to current fashions. Despite what you may have seen on the streets,
the following combinations DO NOT go together and should be avoided:

1. A nose ring and bifocals

2. Spiked hair and bald spots

3. A pierced tongue and dentures

4. Miniskirts and support hose

5. Ankle bracelets and corn pads

6. Speedo's and cellulite

7. A belly button ring and a gall bladder surgery scar

8. Unbuttoned disco shirts and a heart monitor

9. Midriff shirts and a midriff bulge

10. Bikinis and liver spots

11. Short shorts and varicose veins

12. Inline skates and a walker

And last, but not least . . . my personal favorite:

13. Thongs and Depends

I have a couple size 48 tuxedos for sale that are in new condition--one of the pitfalls of weight loss.

Guess what Sheriff, it doesn't matter HOW OLD you are now, you will be 40 eventually .... 50, 60 and 70 too ... hopefully

Please, do NOT embroider it! If I'll have much luck then I don't need to live any longer than about 15 years? Hey, my backbones are old and need some resting. I can't heave the burdens much longer. And, by the way, my beauty will faint too...more and more...

I definitely believe that all musicians should dress for each job.

Yes, that's much better than to be naked...

Seriously though, if you play in a piano bar with a tip jar, you will get more money the better you dress. People feel obligated to give more money to a musician (or a waiter, for that matter) in a tux than one sporting sandals and a sleevless shirt--to use a fairly extreme example....
