The Tennessee Waltz - 06/29/05 09:50 AM
This is a pretty easy 3/4 tune it seems to me. I think I picked it up by myself right away. I confirmed it with a guitar tab that I found also. But, The Guitar Guy had it a little different and he is usually right on. Which is right?
Me(and tab)in C
C//C7/F
C/Am/D7/G7
bridge
C/C7/F/C
C/Am/D7/G7

Chuck, the guitar guy gets my vote..You are using a DMaj instead of a Dm7 chord[1, 6, 2, 5 progression]..

I've always played it with the second chord of the bridge being the 3, or if you are in C, and E chord.
The Guitar Guy always puts a lot of optional, or passing chords in his arrangements. Not necessary, but they do sound good.

Thanks to you pros. An E chord it is then in the bridge and a Dm7 for the D7.

On guitar guy's version, try a Cmaj7 (2nd C in the chorus)before going to the C7.
That's the way I learned it from an old jazz guy years ago.

Russ I think that's what we call passing tones..
