Roland just released the FR-7 digital accordian. The accordian is not in the mainstream here in the United States although it's huge in South America and I know it was big in Europe. many songs use the accordian but you just don't see them in the videos or live concerts. Maybe the digital accordian, lightweight w/speakers will bring it back on stag.

As Gary Larson put it in a far side cartoon:

Welcome to Heaven here's your harp.

Welcome to Hell here's your accordion.

Youmustof been teased as I was by your friends. Worste was everytime someone came over they'd say "get the accordian". I still get the old timers asking me to go home and get it when I stop at the social club so they can sing their old drinking tunes. Maybe I'll play at the "BAR" sometime.

Accordions are still very popular in Europe, and very popular in
Scandinavia.
Often they have buildt in midi and use it with a arranger module.
I've also seen Accordions midied up to a keyboard, and as so many
play the Accordions bass part real good, it sounds great

... but what's with the RED accordion?!?!? .. does it come in black???

I'll bet there are more of us around here who 'cut their teeth' on the accordion, but aren't admitting it ...

Doese'nt matter at all if you're suffering of colour-blindness.
Anyway, I guess they sound pretty similiar?

Btw, there is one song you cannot play with the new Rolands,
it's called "Grandma sleeping".
Have to be an old fashin Accordion to play that one....

The Roland comes in BLACK or RED, also according to the specs, the FR series has all the technology needed to play anything old or modern.
