Targetted?

Advice sought please.

Just received an email saying this:-

From MarvinK.Opportunists

Subject Re Boo ))
(
Do you mind? ))

Te veo luego

And that's it.

Now the only place where my email address is on public display is on the Zone and I wondered if anyone else has received this message?

Questions in my mind.
1. Is there any other place where my address is available to "strangers?"
2. I'm tempted to reply and ask, as in the song, What's this all about? but if I do this am I exposing myself,or rather the pc, to any damage?
3. It's possible the the originator is a lonely soul who just wants to chat, but to what end?
4. Could it be the start of some sort of scam? (now I'm getting paranoid).

What do you think?

If you reply the scammers will know that they have an active email address and you will soon find all kinds of junk mail in your box. They use all kinds of tricks to make you think they are talking to you, or they made a mistake and you want to help. I get 10 emails a day for John garcia and they make it sound like important personal stuff.

Click on the following link to get an analysis of what info your browser gives out to web sites that might ask. Hopefully, you won't see your email address in the report.

Mike, very revealing information. I guess we shouldn't be surprised, and I was somewhat happy at what my computer did not report, but when someone can tell what size screen you have and what graphics capabilities you have that's getting pretty close to home.
