wow, big fish for sure.
I learned to waterski, mostly under water where that fish lived in 1961, in Alton Lake behind the dam there on the Mississippi. I was there on business one hot hot summer for a couple weeks a couple times

Ooooh, and now the fish is dead...

Why didn't he release the fish anymore?
He didn't look like a man who needs something to eat...

I think because it was a world's record he needed to have it officially weighed and measured ...

I guess after all those ceremonies, interviews and photo shootings the fish stank so much that nobody would eat it anymore...*LOL*

You know Shaboom I keep telling my wife that
there are two types of women in the world...
the ones that are built for comfort...and
the ones that are built for speed and I keep
telling her that at my age I want comfort not speed and I tell her to eat more and put
on more weight.....hehehe

Nice blue cat. Biggest I've every seen was a puny 60 pounder that I caught near Richmond, VA, and yes, I released it. Not real fond of eating blue catfish, and it was not a state record. Mississippi flathead catfish get a bit larger, some have topped 150 pounds.

Wow, 150 pounds!!! Now we are reaching dimensions...
My weight isn't more than 150 pounds...imagine, I could hang on such a fishing rod...

The next time when you're fishing and capturing a big weight look at the head first before you're going to beat it with a mace. If it has long black hairs and a strong black beard then you'll probably have captured ME...
