PA 900 access the front USB stick - 09/27/13 08:29 AM

Hi friends, i have just bought the Korg PA 900,
and I have the Yamaha Tyros 3, and things
are so much different. I’m slowly finding my way
round the keyboard but I cannot fathom out,
how to send set-ups which I think are called performances,
to the front USB stick, to read from it or
send to it, or how to access it, if any one could,
help me with this problem I would be grateful.
I’m 80yrs old so please keep it simple
Thank you,
Fred

Hi fred. I'll try to answer you tho I'm not really an expert. I have a pa3x which is almost the same as your 900.
You have no need to save a performance to a usb stick. The performance is part of a syyle or midi that you select and goes with same. Try saving one of your favourite songs with the performance all set up and then copy to usb. This may not be necessary unless you record first and want to play it on a external device. The 900 has plenty of memory so just keep the song in favorites perhaps. If I'm wrong, the members will correct me.

Hi Baz, thank you for your reply,
coming from a Tyros 3 to the Korg 900,
I find it very frustrating at the moment,
My past experience with keyboards
don’t seem to help with the Korg system,
and the Korg set-up seems a complete mystery to me.
I have been told how to save the complete song book
to the USB stick. For those who are interested.

Press, Media, Save, All, Open, Song Book, Save to,
USB, New set, Touch T, Then New Name, OK, Are you sure,
Press yes.

If it doesn’t work ‘hit it with a hammer’ (only joking,)

Good on you fred.
Learning the OS will keep you active.
In my opinion, it is far superior to the yammie and more difficult to learn but well worth it.
