Gibson Les Paul for sale

I have a friend that wants to sell his collector Gibson.

Guitar Center and Sam Ash offered to buy it for $1,300..

This tells me it is worth about $2,500 on the street.

John is an old goat like the rest of us here. He says the Gibson is too heavy for him..

He would like to get $1,700 plus what ever the shipping will cost..

What Les Paul model and year is it Fran?

Nigel, I don't know.. I think he said it was a 2000.
Can you tell the model from the pics?
Also the serial number on the head stock.
