Yamaha EX5: the low-down, please... - 10/12/98 01:15 AM

I'm looking into buying a either a Yamaha EX5 or a Roland XP-80. I really have a good feeling about the EX5 and (truth be told) it's what i want. but the bug list is fairly long, and i'm wondering if the benefits actually outweigh the bugs...
i'm into electronica, and this will be my first synth. any facts / opinions would REALLY help me out.

you can find Nathan's bug list (complete w/ responses from Yamaha) at http://www.psnw.com/~nbarnes/bugs.html

Thanks again!

Check out the Dec '98 issue of Keyboard. It contains their full review of the EX5. I've only spent an hour demoing it a music store. The sound quality is excellent. As for the rest well, based on previous experience, I just don't buy into the "workstation" concept.
