Tell me about the DX7 / DX7 II

I have several synths / keyboards, including the KORG SGproX - Master/Stagepiano and a JV-1080. And the 1080 (Roland) has many pretty good "old" synth samples. But I've heard the DX7 is a classic. Tell me anything about it, when it was made, inbuilt sounds, exp. possibilities, etc. Should I purchase one??

Yes!! it's has a superb e. piano sound plus there are Millions of cartridges available for it, the DX 7MK1 is a classic, but if you get a DX7MK11 we have over 300 sounds for it on disk and if you get the MKII it will be worth considering getting the ADP1 cartridge adaptor as this will allow you to read ROMs from the DX7 MK1.
