Yamaha PSR Help!!!

Hello,

I have a psr 282 and I would like to split the keyboard sound (lower - piano, upper - sax). I know that the 282 has the predefined setting, but I would like to create my own. How do I do this? Thanks for your time.

The PSR282 has only the preset splits. To get custom splits please check out the PSR292 or the PSR550.

I think Yamaha are going downhill. Even my old PSR220 can split both the voices and styles anywhere on the keyboard. And it's easier to use than the later keyboards. One feature really stands out - I can get touch response on the panel organs, something I can't do with my PSR740.

I agree with Pilot. I played on a Yamaha PSR350 and a DGX202. I then tried a Casio WK-1800 and was amazed how good it sounded compared to the Yamaha. I was a little reluctant at first but if you get past the name, it is a great keyboard for the money.

To each his own. Pilot, I cant believe your comparing a PSR220 favoribly to a PSR740. Malachi, if you like the Casio better, go for it. Anybody that is so loyal to a brand that they'll buy it when they know of other products that are better is, nuts!

Midnite, I wasn't comparing the 220 with the 740. Just pointing out that I would like touch response on ALL instruments which the 220 will do. Yamaha stated that they didn't put in touch response for the organs on high end keyboards because they wanted them to be like real organs. That's a load of poop because there's a touch response on/off button right there on the keyboard if you want to make the choice. The problem isn't really touch reponse but that the organ velocities are always set to maximum, either with the keyboard or with midi.
