DJX Effects - Help me please

If you refer to the back of the manual, you will find a load of tables on how to control your effects from a sequencer by firing HEX commands at it down your MIDI cables. Well I tried this in Cakewalk using the Studio Ware panels. But I'm stuck, I can't get my head round it and there seems to be bits missing from the manual. How the hell do you control the volume levels of the effects through your sequencer. I know you can do it !! There is someone out there selling studioware panels, I emailed hime but he never replied. Has anyone else out there worked out how the Hell to do it ?? Or maybe you have made your own panels. Please get in touch !!!
