Yamaha Clavinova CVP 103?? - 04/20/99 02:32 AM

Hi,

I just heard that Yamaha is obsoleting CVP-92, 96, 98s and is replacing them with CVP 103, 105, 107 and 109. Does anyone know what the new features are in these products? How much different are they from their CVP-90s models?

Hi There!

From what I have seen on the internet the main difference is the vocal harmony and video screen on the top two and the new sweet voices from the PSR-8000.

I had the CVP 96 and I know have the CVP103
Good things about the CVP 103:
.More Voices
.More Styles (with 4 variations instead of 2)
.More options (copy disk, for example)
.Many others...

Bad things:
.Less than 40% compatible with older sequences (from CVP 55, 65, 75, etc.). It does not recognize songs from old Clavinovas as it should. CVP 92, 94, 96, 98 were capable of playing any old Clavinova song (more than 80% accurately)
.If you're a person that likes to use DUAL mode, I'm sorry for you. In the other CVP's, you could change the volume of 2 simultaneous voices very quickly. Now you have to press a lot of buttons to do the same thing.
.Style files from previous CVP's WON'T work 100%. I adapted some. Some could not be adapted.
