Yamaha DS2416 DSP factory - problems with Logic Audio - 11/15/04 03:56 PM

Just picked up a used Yamaha DS2416 DSP factory PCI card, along with a AX44 audio interface. (ebay strikes again)
I've intalled, downloaded the drivers from Yamaha, and have had some reasonable sucess.

However...
For some reason I can't seem to be able to record audio from the AX44 audio inputs.
It can record from the RCA connections on the DS2416 itself.
I can also play audio out from the RCA's, and from the audio outs on the AX44, so Logic is 'talking' to the AX44.
I've the Yamaha manual for the DS2416 (PDF), but it doesn't give any clues..

Any uses of this unit out there?
Can you give shed some light on the subject?

Many thanks - S.E.A.

This is just a guess but,

When the DS2416 is combined with an AX44, channels 13 - 16 share the AX44 inputs 1-4 with software outputs 7(L/R) & 8(L/R). The default state of the DS2416 is to have the outputs selected. The inputs have to be selected via the software - in your case Logic. I haven't used Logic so I can't tell you how to change the settings in that software, but this is the first thing I would check.

Good deal,

Sorry I didn't see your post sooner, but I don't check this forum much anymore because not too many users post about these cards anymore. It is a grest card though, have fun with it.
