KN6500 repeat sound - 08/09/21 11:16 PM

Hi Professors,
My friend has a problem with his KN6500.
In piano mode, four keys give a single repest sound.
The keys involved are middle C and D, and the C and D 1 octave below.
Any ideas?
We are in Covid lockdown at the moment and I cannot access the KB myself.

Sounds like a double connection - probably a lot of dust under the keys. That machine is well over 20 years old Ray...

Hi Roger,
is that something from experience, or an educated guess?
I am not fussed about undoing a lot of screws on a whim.
Although that is exactly what I did when i bought my KN7.
It was owned by a cat lover, and the interior was filled with cat hair !!!

Inspired guess - but you're going to have to unscrew anyway to sort something out, Ray...

"UPDATE"
I am informed by my friend that his problem now only relates to one note, middle C . (work in progress).

Problems with keys often times is just jiggling them up and down several times. It worked for me with one note that played extremely loud. Jiggling it probably jarred loose the dust or whatever. Problem resolved.
