I NEED HELP

I NEED HELP - 12/29/19 12:29 PM

I hope you have an answer to something I swear I have done in the past and can no longer do. I have composed a style in COMPOSER and I have used MEMORY B and C VARIATIONS ONLY for the sequenced song. I have sequenced the song and I want to use an ENDING from another song. I do know that I should have loaded this ending before doing work in MEMORY B and C. Since I have already done all the work, is there a way to get this ending I used in another song to come up? I have loaded the style with the ending I want in MEMORY A but it takes out all the work done in MEMORY B and C. All the PANEL MEMORIES are changed including the settings in all the VARIATIONS. Strangely enough, the song will play using the SEQUENCER but the sounds set are not right.

I also tried loading from the SD Card that I got years ago of all the styles in the previous Technics keyboards. I was able to bring up the style and ending I want, which is BIG BAND SLOW and it loaded into MEMORY A. This seemed to be fine but it also took all the MEMORY B and C out because loading the style, there is nothing on MEMORY B and C and it states CLEAR on both. Very frustrating. Bringing up LOAD on the SD card, I went to Page 3 and tried loading from what was said. It doesn't work. I really don't know what Page 3 does. Any suggestions?

Hi Kitkat, I could make an uneducated guess, but would rather be interested in waiting in anticipation for a response from "The Professors".

Hi, Ray -

Thanks for your post. It is strange that I can't bring up another song or preset style and put it in a Memory that is not used. I do think if this particular style was in the keyboard it would work. Going from a style in the keyboard only loads into whatever Memory you use. When it has been filed, it takes in all three memories and is the reason I can't bring up the style in one memory. It wipes out the other two memories.

Years ago, I thought I got around this problem. I will still be able to do it from scratch. I just wanted to save time by bringing up what I had used on another song and make a few changes. If I could bring up what is filed I would have all the instruments set volume wise and drums.

Thanks, anyway -

Bit like Ray - I can't think of an answer either other than starting from scratch again as you've suggested.

Guys I figured it out! To get the ending from the style and bringing it up in COMPOSER and after making a few slight changes in the ending in COMPOSER, I saved the style in CUSTOM STYLE COPY under a name. At the end of the song I did, I went into STEP RECORD and clicked on CONTROL and brought up the last measure of the song and pressed CUSTOM on the keyboard, clicked on the name I saved then pressed ENDING. Problem solved!

Hi Mark,

I think this will work but I don't have my keyboard out to try it.

Copy the composer to a Custom Rhythm. Then you should be able to copy individual variation or its components from the Custom Rhythm back to a different Composer.

Composer > Pattern Copy (Make sure you select something other than "ALL" because that will just copy the entire Rhythm).

I can get my KN7000 out later or tomorrow to look into it further if you're stuck.

Best wishes,
Mike
