Hi Professors, I find 2gb cards hard to find. will the larger ones work in my KN7, and if so is there a different procedure to follow?

Hi Ray,

Some 2Gb cards work but the KN7000 (and KN2600) was designed for 1Gb maximum. The 2Gb cards actually work sort of "by accident" and the keyboard will only use 1Gb-worth of space on them.

Larger ones won't work at all. Any card that isn't SD-Secure won't work at all.

Most of mine are 128mb, I find them to be faster than larger cards. Might be my imagination though, or it might be that I put more data on larger cards.

I use 1Gb or 512mb cards when I'm working with SD Audio.

I know that some people swear by 2Gb cards but I've had two corrupted 2Gb cards in the past so I simply don't use them. Maybe I made some mistakes, I don't know, but I don't risk using them anymore.

Best wishes,
Mike

Thanks guys. I have never had a problem with 2gb cards, but they are hard to find without "HC".
Still searching. (the last one I bought, the lady said "this must be a very old camera) !!!!!!!

Hi

A quick search at Google brought up several places to buy 2GB SD cards. Here are some of the result:

Over half British retail transactions are now made over the internet rather than walking down the street...it's a changing world.

But I would still recommend you don't get 2gb. The machine was designed for 1gb max, I would have my head in my hands if I was the designer

I wonder what bit could be simply redesigned so that 2gb SD Cards or even SDHC cards could be used...software update maybe...

An interesting thought Rog.

I expect that KN10000 would be bluetooth!

I could do to reduce my wiring and cabling so - good thinking - maybe bluetooth is the way forward...

Re: SD cards - 01/29/19 03:26 PM

Remind me chaps please. If I wanted to transfer some style files direct from my computer to a brand new SD Card, how do I have to set up that SD Card first so that my kn7000 will read the loaded card?
p.s. I usually use a floppy disk but I believe I can transfer direct...

Reading back through this old topic, I did find 2gb cards on the net from China. They are working well so far.
