7000 EXPIRES - 02/29/08 04:39 AM

While playing yesterday, there was a loud low frequency boom from the left side of the keyboard. Appears all panel buttons work but there is no sound.

The search begins for a repair facility in the U.S.. I will contact Walt Tenay today. If any forum member knows of a Technics repairman please let me know.

FRAN...
Thank you for letting us know of the TEMPORARY expiration of your 7K! Maybe from your painful experience we will all have a list of people on both sides of the big Pond, (and elsewhere on our planet) who will be able to help during this kind of very sad crisis.
At this point in your situation just hang on to the thought that the culprit within the 7K can be repaired or a part replaced that is not exclusively a Technics item. It seems vital to me that positive thought is in order here.... There HAS to be a solution for the illness in your 7K! Think of it as just a bit sick and the doctor is on the way!

Keep us informed! If this is not important to anyone else, (I doubt that is the case) It is very important to me! I want to know who and where the doctor is located and what the challenge was....

Best Wishes!

While searching Goggle for a U.S. Technics repair facility I came across this gent in GB. May be of use to some 7000 owners. www.mikebarden.com/view.php/article/5/technics-organ-digital-piano-keyboard-repairs -

Hi Fran,

I know of an excellent man in Fresno, California. He works exclusively on Technics organs and keyboards. Unfortunately, he is quite a distance from you. This man coverted a KN7000 that I bought in the U.K. to the power for the United States. He ordered the LAST POWER SUPPLY that Panasonic had. This was about two years ago. If I were you, I would check organ repair rather than general music repair shops. You may be doing this anyway. I'm hoping it is a minor situation and can be quickly resolved.

Here is an odd thing that happened to me about a week ago. I had the keyboard on and later when I left it for a moment to check on something and came back, walking across the carpet created a slight shock when I touched one of the buttons. The keyboard made a soft clicking noise and none of the buttons would perform. I really panicked. I turned off the keyboard and turned it back on and everything was fine. I hope that doesn't happen again.

Good luck in your search.

Hello,

I sent the link of this thread to my keyboard-retailer. Pity, it is in the Netherlands. But maybe some tips come from him to try solve it.

Thanks for the lead. Fort Meyers should have my 7000 tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed.
