More Songs 3 in 1 Vol 5 - 01/10/03 04:22 PM

Recently if you went to my site and downloaded vol 5 of my 3 in 1 songs (for KN6000 and 6500) you got vol 4 instead. The server has finally fixed their problem and you can now download vol 5 correctly.

The site is: http://mysite.verizon.net/res0oyq8/index.html

If you have a problem, please let me know.

Thanks, and enjoy.

Good Morning, Larry!

It is a gloomy and freezing morning here in the U.K. Checked in on our forum and read your post announcing your latest 3 for 1 recordings. Played two of them and the gloom disappeared - at least it disappeared here in my music room!

I have one problem. Your own composition "A Swing Fling" does not show up on the KN load screen. I should have 15 files (five volumes of 3 for 1), but there are only 14. When I check the disk using Windows Explorer, the "LSwing" files are there. Any idea why the KN is not seeing that set of files?

Thanks once again for sharing your musical talents with us. You play so well and I enjoy your music very much.

Have a good day!

Chuck

Hi Chuck,

If I understand correctly, you have saved all Larry's songs to the same disc (I did so too). If you look at the disc in Explorer, you'll see that there are two songs that have (index)number 16 at the start, 16lstard.* and 16lswing.*
The KN7000 can only show one song at index number 16. The solution is simple: rename 16lswing.* tot 18lswing.*

Chuck,

When I download vol 5 songs from my site the PC directory shows 21 files:

7 each for:

13LMARGE
16LSWING
17LMISTY

The KN6000 then lists and plays all three songs.

When you extracted to your floppy could it be that the floppy was not clean, or if you extracted to a previously part filled floppy, some of the song numbers could have combined on the floppy.

Try downloading and extracting to a freshly formatted floppy.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Larry. I thought I heard a little Errol Garner in one of the songs. Beautifully done!

Hi Larry,

Thanks for replying. I took your suggestion and downloaded the files to a clean floppy. The KN sees all files and they play normally. Your composition "A Swing Fling" is really nice.

Now, I took another look at the other floppy containing your first four volumes to which I had added your fifth. Ad Rouw is correct. There are 14 files containing #16 as part of the filename. The first set of 7 files is for "Stardust" and the second set for "Swing".

Hi Ad,

I didn't notice that #16 was common to two different files. Thanks for pointing that out to me. By the way, I do not have the KN7000. My instrument is the KN6000. But I am ready to buy the next generation KN when it hits the stores in another 18 months or so. My KN6XXX is my learning platform and I am making good progress with it thanks to my music teacher and all of you here on our forum.

I see you are living in Apeldoorn. I lived in Soestdijk (almost next door to you) from 1962 - 1966 while stationed at Camp New Amsterdam in Zeist.

Bedankt voor alles mijn vriend!

Chuck

Hi Larry,
In answering Chuck's question I forgot to thank you for sharing a couple of nice songs with us, so thank you very much.

Hi Chuck,
Nice to hear you were in Holland. I'm working on some Dutch Golden Oldies which I will send you when ready. It might revive some memories from long ago.

Regards, Ad.
