My Heart And I - 02/12/05 05:35 AM

Hi Everyone,
My wife says her dad played this song about 50 years ago and wants me to play it for her. Trouble is i've never heard it. Anyone out there can direct me to a midi file or music for it.
Many thanks

Hi Joe.
This is a real oldie. I remember it from the Thirties ( my dad told me about it) and the forties it was sung as a duet by Anne Zeigler and Webster Booth. I have a copy of the sheet, I will e mail it to you.

Richard Tauber comes to mind!!

We are in love with you, my heart and I
and we will always be, my heart and I
and my darling, if we ever say goodbye
we will remember you, my heart and I

Hi Joe,

Noticed your interest in the song "My heart and I"

I have a recording by Richard Tauber on 78rpm
Wouldn't take me 5 minutes to transfer it onto my hard drive, if you're interested let me know, it will probably about 3MB so i can email it to you.

Kind regards to all

Hi Peter and everyone
At the risk of receiving ann 'unwanted valentine card, the full lyrics to the song are:

My Heart and I

We are in love with you, my heart and I
and we are always true, my heart and I
when you are far away, each smile's a tear,
but it's a lovely day when you are near
maybe that love is blind, when passion rules
and that my heart and I are just two fools
and yet my darling if we ever say goodbye
I know we both sould die, my heart and I.

Once in a lifetime, a love dream comes true
just once in a lifetime or never.
I met my fate on the day I met you,
the moment I found you I knew

strange fascination seems to fill and hold me
fateful temptation such as no one ever told me
every thing I would endure for you
come what may and I'll keep smiling through
My heart is yours for you, just take it
it's only a king that could break it

maybe that love is blind, when passion rules
and that my heart and I are just two fools
and yet my darling if we ever say goodbye
I know we both sould die, my heart and I.
