Copy Protected Composer - 05/31/03 12:19 PM

Hello.

I never had KN models just the Technics PR models, because of that I'm not familar with the KN features, but these models do have similiar features.

I found some KN composer files (not sure but either 6000, 6500, or 7000)on the internet which loaded in my PR804 ok, but when I tried to save, it said composer copy protected and asked for a password. My PR even gave me the message number 11, and looking it up in the owners manual it wasn't listed.

What I like to know is, was the composer saved directly using a KN model with a copy protected feature? Or was this done with 3rd party software? What software if that's the case?

I guess it's not possible to convert to another model on copy protected ones?

Thanks, Anthony

Hi Anthony.
It's not too well known, and not written much about
in the manuals, but it is possible to save your
sequenced songs or composerpatterns on the diskette
protected with password to resave.
The one who saved the files you've tryed to resave
have probably done just that.
Then you need the two letters or what caracters ever
used to resave.

Is this a third party software or something built into the technics? Anthony

Is this documented in the KN Models on how to do? No documentation on the PR, so maybe it's not available on the PR's...
