Andrew,
Welcome to the forum.
I have a KN7000 and a PR804 and just did a quick check to see if the PR804 would respond ok to the KN7000 programs on my laptop. It seemed to work fine.

There are three things on the CD ROM that you don't have. First, USB drivers. Second, Song Manager program that allows you to transfer Technics and MIDI files between instrument and computer.
Third, Recorder program that allows you to digitally record performances from the instrument to the computer hard drive using the USB connection. (This works great!)

My suggestion is that you obtain a copy of the KN7000 CD ROM and try it. Be careful to install the USB driver EXACTLY according the instructions!

If all else fails, let me know and I will copy my PR804 CD ROM for you. If you have a broadband connection, it may be practical to transmit through email. Otherwise, I can mail it to you.

Good luck and enjoy the piano.

Lanny

Hi,

Seeing as you are in the U.K. Why not try the following company who have the largest stock of Technics software I know of. If they haven't got in stock what you need, they will always do their level best to get it for you. Their details are as follows:-

TECHNOTE
Steel Close, Eaton Socon
St. Neots, Cambs PE19 8TT

(Orders & Enquiries) Tel.no. 01480 470320

Email: enquiries@technote.com

WEBSITE: www.technote.co.uk

I have dealt with Technote for several years and have always found them courteous and helpful.

Good luck!

Check your email. I hope you have everything you need from the CD ROM ready to download. If not, let me know and I'll try again.

Hi

Today i just bought a PR804. I,m in the UK and p/x my Yamaha psr pro 9000 for it. Unfortunately like all others the cd rom is not there. Also i dont have the remote control. If anyone can assist me with either i would be much appreciated and would pay any costs incurred.

I havent worked out how to use it as yet but no doubt will sort it out. If aT SOME POINT I CAN ASSIST ANYONE WITH ANYTHING ELSE I WILL TRY. i HAVE A kETRON sd1 AND gEM gENSYS pRO + some of the older gem models. Not much of a Yamaha man though didnt like the 9000. I think the Tyros is better though.

Many thanks

FRAN IN FLORIDA....Sure wish I could be at the SZ Technics Jam in FL next month....With all these great people to share with & learn from.....How could that not be a great opportunity? Maybe next time for me.

If all the Governors in our world had the same goal....playing sweet music like we do...that is our goal isn't it? Methinks those who are in charge of policy on the planet may have ego's to match some of ours....however....I really think they could learn a lot from this group about sharing & exchanging information.....Diplomacy worldwide sounds good to me!

The subject matter of this thread...Is it a computer or a keyboard.....???
