expression pedal - 05/25/00 10:52 AM

Hi
I got a Proel volume/expression pedal and can't get it to work on my KN5000. Does anyone know any "secrets" - or will it just not work at all? Thanks in advance.

Hi Tom,

How have you been?

Unfortunately, only the Technics brand model #SZ-E2 will work on the KN5000.

I had previously tried a Roland brand volume pedal on my KN5000 but had to return it and purchase a Techncis model #SZ-E2 Expression Pedal instead.

Technics uses a "tip-ring-sleeve" type of wiring configuration which is different than used by Roland and other brands. I am not familiar with the Proel brand pedal but I suspect it may use the same type of wiring configuration as the Roland which unfortunately will not work on the KN5000.

Feel free to call me by phone as it would be great to chat to catch up on things.

Hi Scott
Sorry I'm so slow getting back to you. I'm doing just fine... getting ready for a nice vacation. Hope you're doing well, too.

Thanks for the info on the expression pedal. Do you remember how much you paid for yours? Also, where did you get it - mail order? Thanks again.

Hi Tom,

I got mine at a local music store (Colton Piano & Organ) and paid $69 plus tax.

You can also purchase the Technics Expression Pedal (PART # SZ-E2) directly from Panasonic USA Parts Division for $54.40 plus tax/ship.

They are located in Kent, Washington. Their telephone number is (800) 833-9626.
