Kn3000 vs 5000 - 03/06/06 02:12 PM

Is there any difference in the overall sound quality between the KN3000 and the KN5000?

Hi

Yes there is, as you find most always when newer and further developed models coming,
and that's probably common for most new models, Technics or other brands.

It's added 30 more sounds, (increased form 260 to 290), also the "Drawbar Organs" and
new "Accordeon Register" is really something else on the KN5000.

Btw,
when HardDrive is mounted, there also is added separate line outputs for i.e. bass and
drums. Nice feature if connected to mixer when gig or record at home.

Hi Tony

I'm really not sure, as I never had a KN6000 myself,
but looking at this picture of the HD-SX6 I doubt it.

for the original question, the actual samples had small improvements compared to the bigger step to NX but the quality from doubling of wave rom and especially the large improvement in the built in speakers (with bass woofer) made a significant difference in playing impression.

For the HX6 there were 4 audio outputs wired on the 26 pole connector, which had a screen programming the accomp or sequencer tracks to be routed to each in the later firmwares. However you needed the connection cable from Keysoft (or a pin out to make your own?) and I can't remember if the cable was ever made available (perhaps in Germany?), or if development stopped when the 7k came out, so I never received one for testing.
