Hello All,

Wow, this is great news for our tool too. You probably know what tool I mean: the "MUST-HAVE" tool for KN7000 and KN2600 players (according to several users)

See http://kn-sdexplorer.has.it

Kind Regards, Fred

Wow, that is then an expensive gadget!! For less than half that price (only less than $20) I can purchase an Apacer 14 in 1 Card reader!!, Also pretty small and very lightweight.

Regards, Fred

Re: no more card readers needed - 01/08/05 01:07 PM

not as small and lightweight as nothing

More and more Desktop and Laptop PCs are now being fitted with multi card readers as well............Maybe external card readers will suffer the same fate as the floppy disc drive ??? Apart from the digital audio requirement - and who knows - maybe even that will be incorporated in future??

£21 for a 256 MB SD card that does not need a card reader does not sound that expensive to me

Looks good to me - I would buy one. Joan

trouble is they don't necessarily take everything... Apart from compact flash and type 2 microdrive there are the various permutations of memory stick, memory stick pro, memory stick duo, magic gate and the permutations thereof, we now have mini sd and micro mmc to cater for (even more adaptors) as well as the full sized versions, let alone xd and the pretty obsolete smart media. Now we have transflash which is smaller than mini sd! I have sat in internet cafes next to people who brought along their own firewire and cardbus readers who could not download their data because they did not have the relevant slot or socket on the pc.

Hi Rikki,
it was a waste of time coming back judging from another thread
Hope things are all back to normal after hubby's long health troubles, and all the best for the New Year and future. Take care.

Hi Rikki and Alec,
I hope that you both had a great Christmas and that 2005 will be a better year than 2004 (Hope springs eternal).

Alec - your presence here on the forum is never a waste of time. The last go around is just an example of what you have to expect when dealing with thousands of people, some of which just like to "shoot from the hip".
Best Regards to all,
Walt

Hi Walt, all the best to you too. We'll see what Frankfurt brings in April - maybe the next tyros - but certainly not what would have been the fantastic KN8000

Alec, look on the positive side, bound to increase your typing speed/skills. To me a lesson in eloquence!! Good to see you posting again. Walter.

Hiya Alec
Great to have you back on this forum - I wonder what you've been busy getting to the bottom of and writing about for all our benefit, these past few months....something Yamaha related I'll be bound...?

Hi Alec,
you being back would never be a waste of time.
Hubby finally got out of hospital in August ( after seven months ) and he's finally on the mend.

Things are not quite back to normal, I actually sold my kn7. Don't think I ever got over the shock that there wouldn't be a KN8000. During all those months sitting round the hospital I became interested in computers , software synths & using OMB as a realtime arranger. I midied to my piano. I remembered having a conversation with you about what the future may hold ( just after the shock announcement about Technics). I ust jumped on the bandwagon early.

The one thing I really miss though, is the chit chat & the members on the Technics forum.

best wishes
Rikki

HI ALEC,
welcome back to the forum.
I don't think you have ever wasted your time here. I emphatically state that there is not a member in this forum, including this writer that has not learned something from you and the books you have published.
I know we have not always agreed but I certainly respect your tremendous knowledge and hope you will stay with us once again. We have a lot of newibes to teach and a few that already think they know it all to ALSO teach
Best to you and yours,

Hopefully you'll look into the Ketron stand to see if
there are any new SD or something coming up as well.

Really nice to see some of the "oldies" at the forum again

Happy playing.

Hello All,

Has the new horse been broken [by the master]?

I realise that even here my Geiger counter can register the impact or fallout from the thread ironically titled "I Have not heard this one before". Where there is great sentiment being sustained, there is hope even for someone who just "like[s] to shoot from the hip", who is responsible for "a waste of time coming back", who is "bound to increase your typing speed/skills" and "eloquence", and who "already think they know it all to ALSO teach".

Hmm..

Maybe talking of horses is bit offtopic (OT), and Nigel have just
opened a new room here at SZ (The Bar) where we can have a drink
and "blow out" if needed.

Cheers

Btw, there is a say that goes about this:
"If you are in a hole, stop digging!"
Posted by: Khai

Re: no more card readers needed - 01/11/05 01:51 PM

That depends on whether you are digging a hole to bury yourself or to strike gold.

In any case, the horse is a teetotaler and unlikely customer at The Bar.

Sounds like the horse was a bit of an old nag whose rider shot himself in the hip, fell off the nag into a big hole and didn't know how to get out again

Johnnie.c,

You are so right.

Khai,

Why not move to another subject or the Bar.

Nigel,

Maybe he needs a designated driver!!

Re: no more card readers needed - 01/11/05 04:13 PM

Which driver(s) or rider(s) would you designate for the benefit of the horse, if your intentions are truly honourable?

Also, I would like to think that the horse will not mourn excessively over its ex-rider who "shot himself in the hip, fell off the nag into a big hole and didn't know how to get out again" to such an extent that it cannot accept a new master.

Hi All

I'm sad to see some of the recent postings. It seems from some of the comments (as George Orwell might have said) that:-

"Everyone is welcome on the Forum, but some are more welcome than others"

Well, I guess that's life in here as it is in "the real world".
Not the first time it happens as far as I remember....

I think this thread has faded to nothing and really needs closing. There is no point in moving it to the bar anymore.
