Hi everyone
After a relaxing week in the caravan, I've just sat down and recorded 10 more songs to help fill the gap while Bebop's on vacation. E-mails, please if you would like a copy.

OK John,

You had enough of this relaxing stuff, get off your butt and Zipper me those files. After all the weekend is rolling around fast and Ruthie and me got some porch swinging and holding hands to do this weekend. We need some mood music to fire her up.

Hi John. I have enjoyed playing your songs tonight and the settings and styles have given me food for thought. Thank you for sharing them with me.I haven't tried all the styles yet as my 6500 is fairly new and it is great to hear some of them put to a song. Great choice of numbers too.Much applause!!! Jean.

Thanks to everyone for the very kind words both here on the forum and in the e-mails I've received

However.........I've got one complaint

Granpa Doug never let us know if Ruthie got 'fired up' enough out there on the porch.
Perhaps I shouldn't have played 'Every Breath you Take'

Hi John
Great stuff, many thanks.
I thought I might look at the kn7000 to see if that will help me play better but after listening to your songs I think I might buy a caravan, and spend some time in that, perhaps that will do me more good !!

Keep up the good work,
Derek

Re: 10 more songs - 07/03/02 05:05 PM

John,

I just spilled the beans about swinging on the porch the other evening on a new thread I just posted. The reason being I used the story of Ruthie and your music to start a new train of thought. The subject might stir up some guys and gals to share their interest in music even if they have no technical concerns at the moment. Our instruments are not the only facet of making music. The people that play them sometimes need to have a new focus on music just as a new keyboard will stimulate a new desire to play. The results lifting their overall playing to a new level.

And Derek, a seven thousand can be used twelve months of the year. It won't get stuck in the snow and boil over in the summer. Besides it don't cost eighty G's. If you feel you need wheels, get a good set of casters for the KN. Plenty of money left over to remodel the bathroom. Mount a new 7 on the wall next to the throne. After you take a comfortable position, fold the KN down in front of you and start playing. The relaxing sounds hopefully will make everything come out alright. When ready fold the board back up into the wall, exposing the paper roll. Rip off what you consider the proper amount and clean up the job. Rise up and after pulling them up secure the buckle, zip the zipper and walk away completely satisfied of a job well done. Wa do ya think?

Re: 10 more songs - 07/05/02 03:46 PM

Hi Grampa Doug,

Now that's set me athinkin'an I do that best in that lil ol' room.
I've just been in there after a plate of bacon n' beans for supper and tested out the accoustics. Boy, the reverb is great !!

I think I'll ask Technics to add Bathroom 1 and 2 to their Effects screen and could provide them with sound samples if necessary !
It bears thinkin about !
I reckon I'm getting wiser in my old age with modern housing as in my younger days where I was brought up, that place was outside in the yard an I didn't spend too much time there athinking, specially in the winter as things soon began to freeze up.
Seems you've got a nice veranda to do your musing and thinking on, keep on doing it old timer !

Regards to you and yours,

Derek
