KN800 Styles/Rhythms/Instruments - 06/27/02 02:26 AM

Hi

Is there any possibility to load new styles/rhythms and especially Instruments onto my KN800 ??? I've got the version with a Memory-Card Slot and a Floppy Disk Drive.

Where can I download such files ?

Which function has the memory card ? Can I there store my settings or are there stored instruments,... originally ???

Thanxx for your answers !!!

the kn800 is now 13 years old and I don't know if any sites still have styles available in a format that will load into it.

I converted mine years ago, because as you upgrade it pays to re-save the files in the next generation of keyboard, but this means that they will no longer load into the older original model you have changed from.

There were a series of style disks available, these had new patterns to load in, and some had the occasional sound edit, not a new sound, but the kind of edit you can do yourself by using the menus.

If you have a disk drive you can forget about the memory card, it just saved a setup like the 20 you can save yourself on a disk. There were no new instruments or anything like that on the memory card.

Hi

Thanks for your answers so far.
Just a question : Can the files be modified back for older models ? Can I modify some files of a newer keyboard for my KN800 ? (with which program ?)

I just looked over the postings and i think that here all my questions will be answered - i'm glad to have found such a board

Bye

yes, with http://www.emc-software.de

but results will not be perfect due to limited tracks and polyphony, and the need for editing of a converted style. So you need to consider carefully whether this program will be worthwhile for you.

Just a little comment.
With EMC you can convert from KN800 and up,
but not further down than the KN1000 as far
as I know.

yes, you're right Gunnar, the spec says kn800, but only to load, not to save. It's so long ago that I used any kn800 files I'd forgotten all about it.

Daniel, I still have 8 discs bought 12 years ago, for KN800 with styles for specific songs and rhythms...(10 tracks on each disc) I have tried to ZIP them but they don't appear to be the correct format. If you e.mail me your postal address I will copy them and send them to you.
e.mail me at alan.maxey@btinternet.com

http://www.mister-music.de/
This site sells style files for KN800's according to its web site details...
Hope this helps.
