Alec's excellent supplementary manual 'Getting the most from your KN7000' is now on sale for £19.99 at: http://www.technote.com/products.asp?page=2&catid=216&model=&IsSubCat=&BrandRt=&parentid=
If you haven't got a copy yet, now is the time to go get one !!
I note that this item is in the 'Clearance' section of the website so maybe this is the last chance ????

I purchased the book at the same time as the kn7000 .
I would advise any one who has not got one to buy it while you still have the chance .

I would reccomend it if it cost $100.00.
I find that even now it is still indespensible.
I have often thought if I had such a book for this Yamaha 9000 that I would also be using it instead of just giving it dirty looks across the recording studio

A recent departed member (hopefully) called Alec the master. When it comes to Technics Instruments, there is no question, he is the master.
Just finished reviewing your CD that came with your 7000 book.
If you do not have it.......get it. Sure makes thing a lot easy.

Forgot to mention. Peter had a problem with his Custom Files Hang up. Paragraph 8.16 of Alec's Book details the clearing of Customs.

I heard the KN6500 book from Alec was great too. I wonder if any strays are out there. I read that most of that also pertained to the KN7000.

it comes up on ebay, I'm told, and as an adobe from Walt Tenay.

The great majority of the 6/65 book still does apply to the 7k, and is not duplicated in the 7k book, but I must point out that it needs to be remembered that it came out before the 7k was thought of. The creation exercises for new styles, pads and sound edits etc were designed for 6 and 65 presets and gave musically useable results comparable to the presets on those boards. All the principles and steps are still valid but because the 7k presets may have changed the results cannot be guaranteed to be playable in the same way. However if a starting style is not on the 7k I should have put it on www.technicskn7000.com/home.asp and the sound edits should not have a problem. I don't want to imply it is not worthwhile, just point out the facts to avoid disappointment.

These manuals are a must have if you own either instrument. I refer to both when trying something new on my 7000. It should be in your reference library. If you plan to sell your instrument (not me) in the future, they will certainly enhance the sale.

99% of the questions asked about the 6/7000 on this forum are answered in these great volumes.

thanks Alec,
