Just in case anyone is wondering what Dave's post is about, it refers to one of my earlier postings

QUOTE :"Hi to all you guy's North of 'The Gap', in the 'civilised' end of the country . Seems there's quite a few of us within spitting distance. There is one more member that I know of in this area, Brian Goodison, who is in Bridlington. Maybe we could have a 'get-together' some time at a central venue? What are your thoughts."

Hey - I'm not north of the 'gap' - living in Wiltshire - but I'm willing to travel despite the M5/M6 interchange!!!
So count me in if I qualify - if only for enthusiasm!!

Count me in as well. That is subject to approval by Son & Daughter, Grand Children, Bank Manager, the Derbyshire Border Control and most important of all 'She who must be obeyed'

OK guys, where is "The Gap"??
I can see a gap where my shirt

guess it's not that one you're

Gunner. In the UK the GAP is anywhere north of the town called WATFORD (A few miles North of London).
The people below the GAP think we Northerners still use Horse & Carts as public transport..HA!!!

Chaps and Chapesses
Have we managed to pick up all UK'ites yet in this conversation - I was beginning to wonder just how many members of Synthzone/Technics discussion forum are this side of the 'pond' and could meet up??

Graham, don't be silly... nobody thinks you use horses and carts! We think you wear flat caps, have whippets, and are constantly in trubble down't mill

ps after that, I think I'll keep my head low now!

Hmmm... I really thought the UK people
use horses & carts, because everytime we
see the Queen on the TV, she travel that
way

To be more serious, always good to learn
something new, and I did not know about
the North - South "fun" in UK, but here
in Norway it has been like that for ages,
even if it is a more friendly "sport"
Kind regards,
GJ

Dear Bill (Norrie)
Looks like you've got a quorum with your suggestion - can I go a step further and suggest the beautiful city of York as the location for the venue and September / October as the season before the winter weather traps us all up there!
Over to you Bill

Re: North of the Gap - 07/31/02 03:17 PM

Hi there, York suits me fine. It is reasonably central and I think the timing suggested by Roger is OK. There would seem to be six of us at present and I'm wondering if any more Forum Members are interested - any takers ??
I know of another couple of members in the area so I'll email them and ask if they are interested.
Since York seems to be popular so far, I wonder if Jan (Kozykeys) knows of a venue (Hotel) which would be suitable for the 'Get-Together'

One other thing, since this topic is not strictly keyboard related, maybe it would be better if we communicated via emails, rather than on the Forum.
Dave T has not published his email address in his profile but if it's OK Dave, email me with the details.
