Connie Francis: Baby's first Christmas - 10/12/03 07:39 AM

Has anyone the Sheet music for Connie Francis's famous hit "Babys first Christmas"
I've not seen this song in any Christmas music books.

More than happy to scan and send any Christmas songs in return.

Many thanks in advance

Hi Peter,

A few years ago I heard this song on a Christmas CD and asked my American friend if she could get it and send it on to me. My friend was told that because of Copyright it could not be sold for use outside of the USA ?? I waned this for a Christmas tape I was compiling and so I acquired the necessary notation the hard way (the hardest way of all I hasten to add).

What I did was place my keyboard near to the CD player and played this song over and over again - a few bars at a time then wrote down each note at a time i.e: CACAGF etc., underlining the lower note and using the root note for the chord. It is a very basic and laborious way of doing things but I didn't have access to the internet in those days, In my opinion Technics keyboards are the best you can get and the KN5000 I had at that time was no exception. Using the APC accompaniment etc., it helped me to produce quite a nice version of this song and to this day, I still get a lot of requests to play it at Christmastime.

Actually, it has changed somewhat since the first production because each successive KN has added another dimension to the sounds used - the latest KN being the 7000 so now I have featured some of the very nice voices available, making it even more enjoyable.

Hope you enjoy playing it as much I do. We live in a wonderful world don't we?

Regards,

Aud
