STYLES - 06/20/03 10:14 AM

I have downloaded (via WinZip) some styles that were developed on a psr2000 (can I say that on this site???? ) ... the extension is " .sty " .... I see the files on the floppy on the PC, but my kn6000 isn't recognizing them ... do they have to be converted first?
thnx,
t.

Hi Tony.
Unforunately, the Style Convert Disk that came with your Keyboard will not convert Yamaha styles. Technics have produced one for the KN7000 (the SC7000plus) that converts Yamaha styles up to and including the Tyros. I dont know if anything similar is available for the KN6000/KN6500

Tony,
Scott Yee on the General Arranger forum will know how to do that if it can be done. I think he has done that.
Let me know too as I also have da yam 9000

Hi Tony,
the only way I can think of is to turn them into a .mid file by changing the .sty into .mid extension, then load them into the kn sequencer and use the create style from midifile function in the kn. I am of course assuming the kn6 has this function??
A fair bit of work ,though.
Other option is to find someone with an up todate EMC style convert for the kn. It transforms it into a kn5 style. ( Not 100% sure if it does the psr2000 yet)

best wishes

Usually it takes something like EMC to convert the Yamaha files, but since the Solton/Roland groups always seem to have the converted Yams, try looking around their sites. They may save you a lot of work!

Tony
I have EMC styleworks and can convert them for you.
What I will do is convert them to KN5000 styles then you'll be able to successfully load them into a KN6000/6500/7000.
I believe this site shows my e-mail address so please feel free to zip them up and mail them to me and give me 24 hours to get back to you.
Best wishes
