PR604 interface with Reason

Can I inteface with Reason software on my PC via the simple USB connection or should I route through the PR604 midi ports/Soundblaster Audigy sound card? What PC sound settings do I use. My current default is Soundblaster (DF80)? Confused? So am I with a task that should be quite simple ... so I am told. Thanks
