Re: need technics KN1000 manual - 01/07/05 08:43 PM

I only have the manual for the KN800 which was a lot different from the 1000. yes I am sure you can use an expression pedal as I have one hooked up to the KN800 when ever I use it, but it has to be a Technics Expression pedal. I tried several others but none worked. The one expression pedal I have from Technics works on my KN7000, KN2600, KN6000, KN3000 and KN800.

Hi Yanuar-N,

The two URLs that I put between the brackets <> did not appear in my last post. How strange! Let me post this message again with the Smiles disabled.

Re: need technics KN1000 manual - 01/08/05 02:49 AM

Hi Yanuar-N,

OK, let me try again, at the risk of repeating my self ad nausium. I suspect that the Synth Zone text compiler has been trying to interpret any text between the pair of "<" and ">" characters as html commands or UBB Codes, according to what features have been selected in my user profile. So, I am dropping the "<" and ">" in this post, and cross my fingers again . . . .

The manual (online/PDF) of KN1000 is unavailable from http://service.us.panasonic.com, which only supplies the manuals for the following models:

SXKN1400
SXKN1500

You might want to send the people there a query at http://service.us.panasonic.com/Feedback/default.aspx. Good luck!

Re: need technics KN1000 manual - 01/08/05 02:18 PM

thanks khai,

i have sent my queries to them at panasonic. can i also ask you (and others) if you know the replacement for technics main adaptor. mine is broken and i'm trying skytronic since in manchester there is no technics dealer which can provide original technics adaptor.

and what about my question regarding expression pedal?

Khai
Your URL has a terminating comma, which means it won't work. If anybody takes the URL from your post they will need to eliminate the comma, then it will work.

Hi Yanuar-N,

You can also search for spare parts at http://service.us.panasonic.com

If you fail to find what you want, just send them a query and wait for their response.

Re: need technics KN1000 manual - 01/11/05 04:08 PM

dear all

it seems that whoever has SXKN1000 is on his/her own ... no support even from technics.com or panasonic.com. i have queried both to panasonic in USA and UK and none of them could help to locate the manual.. :-(

if any of you have the SXKN1000 manual, i'll be more than happy to bear the photocopy cost plus p&p (or scan and email) plus your effort to send it down to me to manchester, UK ... :-) just send me email to yanuar-n@unisosdem.org

Re: need technics KN1000 manual - 01/11/05 04:33 PM

Dear yanuar-n,

I searched and looked over all my manuals and the oldest that I found is for SX-KN720, 920 and 1500.

I do hope that one of us here will strike the jackpot for you soon.

Do you find the green screen of KN1000 hard to read at times?

Re: need technics KN1000 manual - 01/11/05 04:37 PM

thanks for your effort khai,

basically i have just 'moved' from yamaha psr series to technics sx-kn .. so i haven't explored too much. that's why i need the manual (i bought second hand, fully working but no manual).

the green screen in my keyboard seems to have no problem up to date. i don't know if it has precedented problems. i am not aware of them.

Dear yanuar-n,

As to your question regarding expression pedal for KN1000, I am no expert here.

Could you possibly borrow an expression pedal to try it on your KN1000?

The manual for KN1000 is very hard to find, unless there
is another user who have it that can scan it or copy it.
A mail to Panasonic/Technics might be a solution.

About the expression pedal, the answer is YES, you can.
The model are (if I remember it correctly) Technics SZ-E1,
but you'll probably find others who works as well.

Happy playing

Re: need technics KN1000 manual - 01/11/05 05:11 PM

Dear yanuar-n,

It would be very interesting if you could explain why you "'moved' from yamaha psr series to technics sx-kn".

Also, may I suppose that the models that you just 'moved' to is KN2600 and KN1000?

Re: need technics KN1000 manual - 01/11/05 05:19 PM

hello khai,

the main reason why i 'moved' from psr to sxkn (yes, 2600 and 1000) is simply the technicality in MIDI programming. i'm by no means a keyboardist (in fact, i'm an organist, playing real pipe orgel, not "drawbar organ" function in the keyboards .. :-) ...), but an ICT system analyst, in particular interest: MIDI.

i am conducting experiment in MIDI and trying to explore capabilities of technics currently. i think, our research team has done with psr MIDI programming.

btw: by saying "programming", what i mean is a true computer/algorithm-controlled programming (including producing new sounds, etc), not keyboard programming, sequencing, as people usually do.

sorry if this frank answer disappoints you, as a keyboardist.

cheers,

Dear yanuar-n,

I just found copies of manuals for SX-KN600/SX-KN800, but they are obviously of no use to you.

That's it, I think, unless there are places that I haven't looked up yet.

Re: need technics KN1000 manual - 01/11/05 06:17 PM

Dear yanuar-n,

I am not at all disappointed because I also play the organ (as well as the keyboard and digital ensemble). Check out the topic entitled "Reflecting on the Past, Future & Capability of Keyboards, Organs & Digital Ensembles". I truly believe that the forum will benefit a great deal not just from your views and expertise but also your unique insights into some of the issues.

I look forward to your participation in that topic, and to the chance of being enlightened and sharing ideas.

Khai

Try here for the KN1000 Manual - it is listed .......
http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/Epartr/PartslistChoice.asp?
Make sure you enter SX-KN1000
I believe this is a USA website so prices are probably in $US - although it doesn't say......
