Working with Midi Files

Working with Midi Files - 04/10/06 01:40 AM

I am looking for a not to easy program to edit GM midi files. I have Sonar/Cakewalk, which is a steep learning curve I would rather not tackle just now.
I wish to be able to extend the midi file, change instruments, tempo, change the key and add lyrics.
The files will be played on my laptop not on my KN7.

I’m open for suggestions.

Thanks for your help, John C.

For those using a Mac, look at the Sweet MIDI Player for Mac OS X.

Hi John,
if you're not after a sequencer, have a look at GN Midi
http://www.gnmidi.com/

There's a demo available.

best wishes
