There are links to pro audio and homerecording sites listed on Synth Zone's Music & Audio Links page. That should lead you to the type of info that will give you good background on recording. The same principles apply whether recording at home or in a $5000 a day studio.

The best site (not that this one is bad) is "Random Access" it has seperate pages for Cakewalk, Cooledit, etc.Literally thousands of knowledgable guys are there to answer questions and recommend settings, techniques, etc.
I can't remember the address because its on my "favorites" list , I go there everyday with a push of a button, but enter "random access" in a search engine and look for the site that mentions audio and recording, etc.
