Vocoder or something?...

Vocoder or something?... - 12/17/00 11:17 AM

Does anybody knows what kind of effect is used on Sher's voice in some her songs (and many, many others later). The effect sounds like "step-modulated" robotic voice. Is that some vocoder or similar? Is there any VST plugin for that effect? I'm very interesting...

Sorry, no, it is not the A-Tune plug-in.

It was a Digitech Talker and a Nord along with other goodies.
See the following article direct from the guys who recorded it: http://www.sospubs.co.uk/sos/feb99/articles/tracks661.htm

You can get similar results by setting a pitch-correct plug-in/module to perform full semitone correction steps, but it is not exactly the same sound.
