Hi,
What sound card do you suggest to buy to make a small home studio? ... at pro level quality. Something external, some stand alone system on which I wouldn't spend 2 or 3 days just to set my PC to work with it... and ofcourse, something not to expencive.

I would look at Protools mBox or the Lexicon equivalent, the Omega, I think. Both with customer reviews at Musiciansfriend.com

I would also take a look at one of the Roland VS machines, they are very stable and they now accept PLUGINS!

You can also record on an Roland MV-8000... Another great machine.

I have a Roland VS2000 with VS8F-2 PLUG-IN and VGA mouse expansion for the monitor that are still in the box. Pls lwt mw know if you're interested.

A small home studio @ pro level. Something new to me. Anyway I would probably suggest you to invest in your production studio at a little extra cost. If you are a composer then it would great to have an Echo Layla3G (www.echoaudio.com/Products/PCI/Layla3G/index
.php). And for the sound card you shuld have a compatible PC (applicable to all sound cards). If not you will running round as if your studio is burning (with problems). So please do take this advice. For more info pls contact jcdenton@rediffmail.com

Korg D1600mkII or D1200mkII

I use the bigger Korg, the D32XD, but these little guys do nearly all the same stuff at a lower price.

And way, way, way easier to use than the Roland stuff.
